A little horse

I took Alex for a drive up to see Chris at work. Lots of top class horses around. The one in the picture is called Sentana and he is lovely! Apparently around £50k and his father (Sandro Hit) is one of the top dressage horse in the World at the moment…. by ‘eck!

Alex had a great time feeding carrots to all the horses at the yard – he even had a go with a hoof pick and did some grooming.

I had great time too. Chris may be the one who is heavily into the horses, but I love them too. I’d love to own a Percheron cross at some point – they simply look fantastic – but it is a dream right now.

I’m just glad Chris has this job. It kept a little money coming in during the past three months when I pretty much had no salary due to my bad back. More importantly for me though, is that Chris is working with horses – her passion – and that makes her very happy…. and in turn it makes me very happy.

Big difference, but nothing changes…

One tired lad after a day of playing with his beloved cars!!!! He just runs his batteries down and sleeps where he stops…

With that said, I am off to bed as my prescribed sleeping tablets are kicking in quite quickly now. They were prescribe because my back injury stopped me from getting much uninterrupted sleep over the past two and a bit months, and even though the back is getting better, my sleep pattern is as erratic as a blind drunken quadriplegic trying to negotiate spaghetti junction in a car with a wheel missing…. So pretty bad….

I’ve been able to count every hour in and out through the night. It’s not that I am not tired – believe me, I have never felt so damned tired – it’s just the back pain kept waking me, and now I just can’t get back into a sleep pattern at all. I’ve done shift work before and a change of sleep pattern normally only takes a weekend – but this is different. Dead on my feet….crawling up to bed… drag myself under the sheets…. and then just not sleep – but going beyond normal tired. Not nice at all.

So, without further ado, I wish you all a pleasant night as I take my Temazepam induced wobbliness up to bed, to sleep….perchance to dream! Aye, there’s the rub….. ooof – these tablets are a bit more than sleep makers I think…

In bed with the Police

When Alex wakes up in the morning he joins us in our bed for a while. Chris left early for work today, so it is just me and the lad today.

This morning he decided he had to bring his Police car (he loves the emergency services) with him…and his drink…and his puppy. The puppy goes without saying, mind you, as that is Alexs favourite.

It may be miserable outside today, but seeing the lads happy face and hearing him chattering and laughing first thing in the morning really makes up for a lot of things!
