Unbelievable!!!

Not last Christmas, but the Christmas before….

I just can’t believe the changes that Alex has gone through in this time. He was a chubby little crawler back then, and now he is a hypersonic little lad who is into everything! I guess as an adult there aren’t many changes over 3 Christmases – but for a little lad in his early years the changes are amazing.

Next year is going to be amazing! He’s really getting into the idea that Christmas is a celebration and special – so next year I think he’ll start getting much more excited before the 25th arrives!

Christmas is “Delayed”

Cancelled is like saying “Failed” – and as many of the blog readers know, I’m not a fan of failure. Failure only happens when you stop trying to succeed. Sure you might be failing at something – but you only really fail when you give up.

As such I am retracting my “Christmas is Cancelled” statement, and instead I am going with “Christmas is postponed”.

This troubled time is one of  the lowest we’ve had as a family. Things are being put in place to ensure things don’t go so bad if the muck hits the fan ever again, but that’s for the future. For the moment we are scratching from day to day to try and get by. It’s “simply” a case of hanging on in there for a while until we sort things out – and not getting dragged down by the whole mess.

So… Christmas isn’t cancelled – it is just being “put back” – so expect some out of season greatings from us in the future!

….of a fun packed 100mph birthday for our 2 year old lad….

YUP!!!! ALEX IS TWO!!!!

First things first – Thank you to the family for the gifts they gave Alex. He loved opening them all (he had huge eyes when he saw the Thomas the Tank Engine inflatable…..that’ll wait until summer until it is pumped up though!).

He took to his first radio control car with the same styles as I drive on the PS3……yup – he turned the controller to “help” steer…..just like his dad on the PS3 Gran Turismo!!!….

A sand and water table (high rise cat litter tray and bird bath come winter…..) was also a great success. He thoroughly enjoyed opening all his gifts. At 2 he has much better understanding of what is going on, so knew today was special.

Another gift was a trip to Horton Park – the petting zoo with adventure playgrounds that Alex really enjoyed last year. Now he is older he had so much more fun!!!

Alex loved seeing the animals again, but this time he was “All about the action!”.

A stop for a picnic lunch was required to recharge the turbo-toddler batteries, and then it was off again!!!

This year he threw himself into all the climbing frames and slides, running rings around us adults!

Top day out…..followed by a sleep in the car on the way home….then play time again with his sand and water table (less sand…). He should sleep well tonight!!!
